Lauren Roche – best selling author, medical doctor and motivational speaker.
Lauren became a successful author in 2000 with the courageous and bestselling autobiography, Bent Not Broken. Her story is an amazing inspirational insight into the resilience of the human spirit when life’s challenges seem overwhelming.
Bent Not Broken describes Lauren’s turbulent childhood and adolescence as she struggled to deal with sexual abuse and rape, and her subsequent life as stripper and prostitute, before she turned her life around … returning to high school and university, eventually graduating as a medical doctor. It is an amazing true story of recovery and redemption.
Only twelve months after her first book, she released the sequel, Life On The Line, which chronicles the twists and turns she has faced over the years including bankruptcy, depression, attempted suicide, and the shocking revelation that her son is a sex offender, and is now working on a third book.
Lauren continues to grow and evolve as she embraces the challenges of her chosen profession and now pursues a doctorate of divinity in her “spare time”. Working as GP in Whangarei, she lives on the beautiful Tutukaka Coast with her partner Graham who is an artisan coffee roaster, and their dog Winnie the Poodle.
Funny and inspiring – this is an opportunity to hear a fabulous speaker share her own personal stories with warmth and compassion. For more information – visit her website: Lauren Roche
