Your smallest personal stories can be your everyday pocket rocket  - a powerful, motivating communication tool.

Are you telling yours at work? Or is there something stopping you…?

Just to be clear - personal stories don't have to be 'personal'! 😀 They’re simply the  lessons you've learned from your own experiences - at work or not. Sometimes we reject them because they seem too small to be relevant or interesting to others BUT  when they're shaped for a business setting, they can be powerful beyond measure. And memorable!

When you can confidently share your experiences and frame them with a relevant business point, you have an amazingly resilient, interesting and powerful tool to use every day. 

Here are the three key issues that stop many professionals from making the most of their stories - do any ring a bell?

1. We think... Our ordinary, daily 'stories' wont be useful or relevant enough to share. 
But the truth is... We’re learning and discovering valuable things every day, whether we're cheering our kids at footie or cheering our clients or teams at work!

2. We think... Our personal stories are just waaaayyyy too, too ...ummmm....personal. (eek)
But the truth is...   It's just what you're learning in your out-of-hours self. You decide exactly what to share.

 3. We think... Our storytelling abilities are sadly lacking. What's a story anyway?
But the truth is... That shouldn't stop you. Telling stories to persuade, clarify, explain is a learned skill. And you can learn it.

2.    The Art of Everyday Business Storytelling: the basics

○      Understand the fundamental elements that make any story compelling and memorable.

○      Learn where we can go wrong and how to avoid the pitfalls

3.    Converting Personal Stories for Specific Business Objectives:

○      Learn Moya's simple two-step process to transform your everyday experiences into memorable, interesting business stories

○      Learn how to frame your stories to keep people leaning forward and encourage more stories back.

Standard: $250 incl GST, per person

Registration process
Payment online is by debit or credit card (VISA, Mastercard or American Express) only and there are 3 easy steps to complete the online booking process.  
Our registration platform is hosted by Lil Regie, our NZ based booking agent. Upon completing your registration by hitting the blue 'Confirm Booking' button, you will receive an automated email confirming the booking and amount paid by credit card. A GST Tax Invoice showing your payment in full will also be emailed to you.

Can't pay online and require an invoice?

We work hard to ensure that all workshops are cost effective by automating our systems. If you require an invoice (rather than paying by credit card) there will be a $25 surcharge for this, and you will need to supply:

  • The full name and postal address required to appear on the invoice.

  • The contact name and email of the person(s) responsible for authorising this expense and approving payment.

  • Any purchase order references required on vendor invoices.

Cancellation Details

What happens if you have to cancel?
We know that sometimes your plans can change for many different reasons. Should you be unable to attend, a substitute delegate is welcome to attend at no extra cost. If a substitute delegate is not available and you need to cancel your registration, please be aware of the following:
Up to 7 days prior to the event you will be provided a refund of your registration cost, less a $20.00 inc GST per attendee service charge.
If you cancel within 7 days of the event, you are not eligible to receive a refund. Please note: should your registration not be paid by the time of the event, you are still liable to make the payment. Unpaid accounts may be passed over to our debt collection agency and additional costs may be incurred. 
All cancellations must be received in writing (email). 
Training is cancellable by GROW with 3 days’ notice if a minimum number of attendees is not met and full refunds will be provided.
Please note: GROW Ltd reserves the right to make any amendments that we may deem to be in the best interest of the workshop – it is however very unlikely and we will notify you as soon as possible should this occur.

Who is Moya Sayer-Jones?

Moya has spent a lifetime creating and gathering stories. In first career she was a successful a writer, performer and novelist working with some of Australia’s best editors, filmmakers and publishers. Since 2007, she’s been bringing that learning and creative force to the nonprofit sector as a story strategist and producer, through her company, Only Human Stories.
